Update from Allandale Habitat Steward
By Cheryl Silver
I wanted to let you all know that I am 2/3 through the way of completion
of my training to be a Habitat Steward---a volunteer position whereby I
am a resource--and happy to coordinate this effort in Allandale..........
We have so many terrific opportunities here in Allandale to do some
terrific things------I would love to hear from you if:
1) You are interested in getting more information about getting your
yard certified
2) If you have special skills with respect to our native habitat to
contribute to these efforts---e.g., if you are a native plant buff,
knowledgeable about butterflies and their food sources/insects, birds
and building habitats for them, etc.-----also, if you have muscle and
inclination and want to help someone who may need extra muscle for their
project
3) If you have a business in the area and want to consider making the
grounds/part of the grounds a wildlife habitat
4) If you are a member of scout troop or other organization that wants
to work on this project
5) any other ideas?
Let's make Allandale stand out! BTW--this could be addictive <g>.
Finally-----you don't need a huge area to create a habitat.
Please drop me a note at csilver2@... or call me at
454-7219 if you want to talk.
Cheryl Silver and the gang on Vine Street-----where I am working on this
myself for my own yard.
