A special thank you to all the volunteers that helped out with It's My Park Day.

It’s My Park! Day is an annual community service day focused on improvements to Austin’s park system. Two locations were hosted in Allandale; Shoal Creek Greenbelt and along Great Northern’s Hike n’Bike Trail. Major accomplishments were cleaning the creek along the Shoal Creek greenbelt with sofa cushion being the biggest item, and trimming branches along Great Northern to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

In just a few hours, our intrepid crew was able to make a difference in two locations:

• 25 Bags of trash gathered
• 17 volunteers
• 5 piles of trimmings
• 2 locations
• North Shoal Creek Greenbelt
• Great Northern Bike Trail
• 1 opportunity to improve greenspace in our neighborhood
